The National Academies’ Committee on Professionalizing the Nation’s Cybersecurity Workforce: Criteria for Future Decision-Making, is holding a series of workshops to consider approaches to increasing the professionalization of the nation's cybersecurity workforce. Three workshops will be held across the country in 2012-2013 to hear from stakeholders and other experts from industry; federal, state, and local government; educational institutions; and testing, assessment, and certification providers. Workshop I: December 12-13, 2012, Washington, DC - Agenda Discussion Forum @ RSA: February 26, 2013, San Francisco, CA - Registration Additional project information can be found here. Drawing on inputs from the workshops and public comments, a National Academies-appointed committee will prepare a consensus report that characterizes the current landscape for cybersecurity workforce development and provides criteria for identifying which specialty areas may require professionalization and how different approaches and tools for professionalization could be evaluated.
