Assessing the Minerva Research Initiative and the Contribution of Social Science to Addressing Security Concerns

The Board on Behavioral, Cognitive, and Sensory Sciences (BBCSS) is pleased to announce a new project funded by the Department of Defense (DoD) to assess the Minerva Research Initiative (MRI). The MRI is a DoD-sponsored, university-based social science research program that encourages basic social science research to improve DoD’s understanding of the social, cultural, behavioral, and political forces that shape the world. The committee will be tasked to address: (1) quality and impact of the program, (2) processes and procedures that may affect the success of the program, and (3) direction and vision based on the challenges of the world today. View the full statement of work.
