It is becoming very clear that society needs to be planning for how it will maintain human well-being as the environment changes over coming decades. BECS seeks to inform the transitions that will be made by helping governmental agencies and others incorporate knowledge from the social sciences, with knowledge from the natural sciences, into the planning process.
