These papers were commissioned for the Workshop on Exploring the Intersection of Science Education and the Development of 21st Century Skills. The workshop was convened by the Board on Science Education on February 5-6, 2009 in Washington, DC with support from the National Institutes of Health Office of Science Education and the following members of the Partnership for 21st Century Skills: The National Education Association; SAP (no longer a member of the Partnership); the Pearson Company; Intel Corporation, Apple, Inc., and the Ford Motor Company Fund.
