Assessing Hard-to-Measure Cognitive, Intrapersonal and Interpersonal Competencies

With support from the National Science Foundation, this symposium will explore key competencies such as critical thinking, motivation, mindset, and teamwork.  Session topics include:

  • How key competencies are related to learning and persistence in STEM
  • Defining and assessing key competencies
  • The landscape of research funders' investments in key competencies
  • Current research projects investigating key competencies

The symposium will build on and extend two prior White House Workshops on "hard to measure" 21st century skills.
