Convention Center/200 Level, 202B

Project Scope

BOTA conducted a planning meeting to explore the potential for one or more projects at the NRC for improving available data about teacher preparation, following up on a recommendation of the 2010 NRC report, Preparing Teachers: Building Evidence for Sound Policy. As background to the meeting, BOTA commissioned several papers to provide ideas for a possible integrated data system and data infrastructure and several critiques of those papers. In organizing the planning meeting, BOTA staff received input from the leadership of the American Educational Research Association (AERA), in addition to other experts. Subsequently, BOTA worked with AERA to design and hold a panel discussion at the AERA annual meeting to discuss the topic further.  If warranted from all of the information gathered from the planning activity, BOTA maydevelop for institutional approval one or more prospectuses for future work.
