Program Evaluation

The hardest question to answer in public education may be how well a policy change has worked. Policy makers, researchers, educators, and the public may pin big hopes on changes in governance, new programs and policies, or other initiatives, but it’s not always clear what data will best show whether they had the intended effects. BOTA studies have explored the challenges of program evaluation in the context of national testing programs as well as an urban school district, offering guidance for using available data and shaping data collection in the future.

- Committee for the DC Education Consortium on Research and Evaluation (DC-EdCORE)

The committee will carry out a two-year program of data analysis that will provide valuable information to the city about the progress of key efforts begun under PERAA.
