On April 30, 2014, the Committee on Law and Justice hosted a public briefing to present its new report, The Growth of Incarceration in the United States: Exploring Causes and Consequences

An overview of the report was given by Jeremy Travis, chair of the study committee and president of John Jay College of Criminal Justice and Bruce Western, vice chair of the committee and professor of sociology at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.  Dr. Travis and Dr. Western, together with two additional committee members -- Glenn Loury and Craig Haney -- then took questions from the audience.  (The Q&A starts at 42:20 in the archived webcast below.
