Committee for the Review of Proposals to the 2010 Program of the Ohio Third Frontier Program Continuing the previous work of the National Research Council for the State of Ohio, the National Research Council is reviewing proposals to the Ohio Third Frontier Program and identify proposals that best meet the scientific, technical, and commercialization criteria of the award program. Since 2002, the state of Ohio has funded a number of award programs aimed at expanding Ohio’s high-tech research capabilities and encouraging the formation of new companies and the commercialization of research. These programs were initially funded with Ohio’s proceeds from the multi-state tobacco settlement, but have now expanded into a 10-year, $1.6 billion program called the Third Frontier Project (TFP). This is the eighth year the NRC is reviewing proposals for TFP.
