Committee on Operational Science and Technology Options for Defeating Improvised Explosive Devices

The committee’s principal function is to conduct discussions and help define and organize studies and other activities that would identify potential avenues for research, development, demonstration, and practical operational implementation of advanced science and technology options to defeat the growing threats and strategies undertaken to assemble, deploy, and use improvised explosive devices (IED). The committee will focus on issues relevant to the joint military service environment, as reflected in the Department of Defense Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization (JIEDDO) mission.
