Linda Casola, Research Associate

Research associate with the Board on Mathematical Sciences and Their Applications and a staff writer/editor for the Division on Engineering and Physical Sciences. Linda’s primary responsibilities include drafting reports summarizing convening activities; editing and formatting National Academies’ publications; assisting with report dissemination activities; and collecting background information on topics such as trends in higher education, advances in machine learning, and applications for data analytics. Prior to joining the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine in April 2014, Linda’s career was in higher education: she held positions as a university admissions counselor, an educational consultant, and, for nearly a decade, a university instructor of composition and literature. Linda holds both a Master’s degree and a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Dayton.
