GETTING STARTED: 1. Read thoroughly the Fact Sheet for to the level of fellowship for which you plan to apply (Predoctoral, Dissertation, or Postdoctoral)... ...so that you will understand the level-specific eligibility requirements, eligible fields of study and other important information such as stipend amounts and criteria for selection. If your field of study is not included in the eligible fields list, it may be an indication that you are not eligible for this fellowship.
2. Read carefully all instructions provided in Application Instructions and Supplementary Materials... ...so that you will have a complete understanding of the minimum required materials that comprise a complete fellowship application and the deadline for submission of all supplementary materials in support of your fellowship application.
3. Contact potential writers of your letters of recommendation early... ..to be certain they will be able to submit their letter by the deadline. Be sure to provide the writers of your letters of recommendation with a draft of your fellowship application research proposal essay so they are able to comment on it in their letter (they will be asked to do so in the instructions they will receive).
