Public Comments for the Study on Research Universities
The National Research Council’s Committee on Research Universities invites comments on the work it has been charged to carry out. The committee, chaired by Chad Holliday [NAE], has been organized in response to a request from Senators Lamar Alexander (TN) and Barbara Mikulski (MD) and Representatives Bart Gordon (TN) and Ralph Hall (TX) for a study focused on the health and competitiveness of our nation’s research universities. Committee Membership and the Committee’s full “Statement of Task” are both posted on our project site. As the committee moves forward, it will hold several public meetings as part of its information gathering process. Those meetings along with their agendas will also be announced on the project site. The Committee welcomes your comments through this web site from October 22 to November 20 as a lead up to its second meeting, to be held November 22-24, 2010, in Washington, DC.
Please note that under the Federal Advisory Committee Act, all comments you submit to the Committee, including your name and identifying information, will be made available to the public through the public access file for the project. The National Academy of Sciences (NAS) shall be authorized to use any such comments or submissions in accordance with the NAS’s Terms of Use Statement. The Committee appreciates your input.
