USNC/URSI Commission A - Electromagnetic Metrology

Statement of Purpose (Terms of Reference)

The Commission promotes research and development in:

  • Measurements and standards in time and frequency, including infrared and optical frequencies;
  • Measurements in the time domain;
  • Measurements in the frequency domain;
  • Measurements in telecommunications;
  • Measurements using lasers;
  • Quantum metrology and electrical methods in fundamental constants;
  • Measurements and standards from dc to optical frequencies.

Nominations for (full and associate) membership in Commission A should be submitted on line with a member sponsor support (must be a US Citizen/Permanent Resident); Nomination Form.
