Infrastructure: The Cost of Doing Nothing

  AGENDA

Government-University-Industry Research Roundtable Meeting

June 24-25, 2013
National Academy of Sciences Building
2101 Constitution Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20418

From our highways, railways, and waterways to our national broadband capacity, our electric grid, and our schools, America's infrastructure is deteriorating rapidly.  Despite pressing infrastructure needs, financial resource scarcity in a depressed economy and competing priorities for government and private funding have largely held back progressive investment in infrastructure repairs and new development.  At this GUIRR meeting, participants will explore the potential implications of underinvestment in infrastructure, as well as the role that public and private sector entities may play in succeeding or failing to provide optimal infrastructure for robust economic growth and achievement of America's science and technology research goals.
