Fawwaz Ulaby, CHR MemberFawwaz Ulaby is R. Jamison and Betty Williams Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Michigan, where from 1999 to 2005, he was vice president for research. He is former provost of King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, International Union of Radio Science, and International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing. He is a fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He received a Ph.D. in 1968 from the University of Texas at Austin. He was awarded the Centennial Medal in 1983 from the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and the Kuwait Prize for Applied Science in 1987. Professor Ulaby is recognized internationally for his contributions to the science and technology of radar remote sensing and its applications.
