In Memoriam: Lawrence D. Brown, 1940-2018

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of former CNSTAT chair and member Lawrence D. Brown, who passed away February 21, 2018. We are grateful for his many years of service to the Academies and CNSTAT, which included serving as chair or member of the CNSTAT panels that produced The 2000 Census: Counting Under Adversity, Coverage Measurement in the 2010 Census, Envisioning the 2020 Census, and Measuring Research and Development Expenditures in the U.S. Economy. His most recent service was as CNSTAT’s 9th chair, ably leading the committee from July 2010 to June 2017. Read more about his work with the Academies and see his obituary in our February newsletter.

This site is intended to provide up-to-date information on the Committee's activities and findings.
