American Association for the Advancement of Science Directorate for Science and Policy Programs
- The DSPP implements AAAS objectives in those program areas where science, government and society intersect, and consists of three programs and the newly founded Center for Science, Technology, and Congress.
The Brookings Institution
- Brookings, a private, independent, nonprofit organization, is the nation's oldest think tank, conducting nonpartisan research in economics, governmental studies, foreign policy, and the social sciences generally. Its principal purpose is to bring knowledge to bear on the current and emerging public policy issues facing the American people.
Center for International Science and Technology Policy- The CISTP, which is part of GW's Elliott School of International Affairs, is the current University focal point for research, graduate study, and informed discussion related to issues in science, technology, and public policy.
Council on Competitiveness
- The Council was founded in 1986 to serve as a focal point for leadership efforts aimed at improving the competitive position of the United States in global markets. It is a private sector outgrowth of the President's Commission on Industrial Competitiveness, which completed its work in 1985.
The Heritage Foundation
- Founded in 1973, Heritage is a research and educational institute -- a think tank -- whose mission is to formulate and promote conservative public policies based on the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong national defense.
Federation of American Scientists
- The Federation of American Scientists conducts analysis and advocacy on science, technology and public policy, including nuclear weapons, arms sales, biological hazards, secrecy, and space policy. FAS is a privately-funded non-profit policy organization whose Board of Sponsors includes half of America's living Nobel Laureates.
National Science Teachers Association
- NSTA, founded in 1944 and headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, is the largest organization in the world committed to the improvement of science education at all levels -- preschool through college. NSTA's current membership of over 60,000 includes science teachers, science supervisors, administrators, scientists, business and industry representatives, and others involved in science education.
NSF Statistical Reports on U.S. Science and Engineering
- Our mission at the Division of Science Resources Studies (SRS): To produce and disseminate high-quality data and analyses related to science, engineering, and technology. We fulfill this mission by designing, sponsoring, and conducting surveys; by analyzing and synthesizing data produced in this country and internationally; by developing indicators; and by preparing and disseminating statistical reports.

- Their mission is to provide engineers, scientists, and science and engineering students with resources for understanding and addressing ethically significant problems that arise in their work, and to serve those who are promoting learning and advancing the understanding of responsible research and practice in science and engineering.

U.S. National Commission for UNESCO
The U.S. National Commission for the United Nations Educational, Scientific, Cultural Organization is a Federal Advisory Committee to the Department of State that supports worldwide humanitarian development and values by coordinating efforts and delivering expert advice from the Federal, State and Local Governments and from Non-Governmental Organizations on issues of Education, Science, Communications and Culture.

Academy of Sciences for the Developing World
- TWAS, the academy of sciences for the developing world, represents the best of science in the developing world. Its principal aim is to promote scientific capacity and excellence for sustainable development in the South. TWAS is an autonomous international organization, founded in Trieste, Italy in 1983 by a distinguished group of scientists from the South under the leadership of the late Nobel laureate Abdus Salam of Pakistan. Originally named "Third World Academy of Sciences", it was officially launched by the then-secretary general of the United Nations, Javier Perez de Cuellar, in 1985.

Public Policy Assessment Society
- The Public Policy Assessment Society Inc (PPAS) is an incorporated association whose purpose is to improve public policy. The Society is not party political, and is entirely self funding. Its approach is broadly consumer oriented. The Society makes assessments of policy issues from time to time, and releases independent reports. It takes a major interest in matters on which governments and other public bodies engage in formal public consultation.

International Federation of Institutes for Advanced Study: Science, Technology, and Innovation Systems Policy Information Map Index
- IFIAS was founded in 1972 with the support of prominent scientists and leading research institutions in developed and developing countries. The original purpose of IFIAS was to sponsor international, inter-disciplinary programmes and projects which were intended both to increase our understanding of global issues, and to influence policy at a national and international level. Its Secretariat was originally located in Sweden, but moved to Toronto, Canada, in 1986.
International Institute for Sustainable Development- The International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) is a not-for-profit corporation, established by the Governments of Canada and Manitoba. IISD's mandate is to promote sustainable development in decision making within government, business and the daily lives of individuals in Canada and internationally. It is directed by an independent international board, and supported by Canadian and other international donors.
