Research Universities and the Future of America: A National Convocation on Breakthrough Actions
On June 14, 2012, the National Research Council released its report, Research Universities and the Future of America: Ten Breakthrough Actions Vital to our Nation’s Prosperity and Security. Since the report’s release, study committee members have been working with university and business partners to hold a series of nine regional meetings around the United States. On Thursday, October 10, 2013, the Board on Higher Education and Workforce held a, "Research Universities and the Future of America: A National Convocation." This conference featured presentations and discussion of the major themes and key messages that emerged from the regional meetings and identified top priorities for implementing the report's recommendations in the coming months and years.
