U.S. - Egypt S&T Joint Fund Symposia|
As part of the U.S. - Egypt S&T Joint Fund, principal investigators from both countries and members of their teams attend a Joint Fund Symposium in Cairo to showcase the future plans and current developments of their projects. This gathering also presents an opportunity for researchers to build their professional networks and further develop their ties with colleagues in Egypt and the U.S.
The project team members attend the Symposium during the first and final years of their projects. There have been three symposia organized so far, in 2016 , 2018, and 2019.
Global Lab to Market Forum
A two-day event in December 2016 presented models of successful innovation in developing countries and engendered discussion on how to meet the circumstances unique to Egypt. Organized by the innovation non-profit, VentureWell, expert speakers convened to present on innovation-related topics such as technology transfer, commercialization, incubation, and entrepreneurial capacity building in science and technology.
Alumni of the U.S. - Egypt S&T Joint Fund provided input on their research under the program and its connection to commercialization efforts. Members of the Egyptian science and technology community from a wide variety of organizations took part in working groups organized along particular themes. This helped spark ideas for successful commercialization in Egypt. View the agenda
