CELEBRATING WOMEN IN SCIENCE AND
RECOGNIZING L’ORÉAL USA FOR WOMEN IN SCIENCE FELLOWS

On Wednesday, October 24, 2018 the Committee will host an informal gathering of distinguished scientists, engineers, and medical professionals to celebrate the successes of female scientists, engineers, and medical professionals to recognize the 2018 L’Oreal USA for Women in Science Fellows. The event will include brief presentations on barriers and opportunities for women in science by Dr. Rita Colwell of the University of Maryland; Dr. Vivian Pinn of the National Institutes of Health; Dr. Melissa Ghim of the National Institutes of Health; Njema Frazier of the U.S. Department of Energy; and Julie Martin of the National Science Foundation. A full agenda can be found below. The event will run from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the National Academy of Sciences Building, 2101 Constitution Ave. N.W., Washington, D.C.
