 | Dr. David Bruce Conn is Professor of Biology and Dean of the School of Mathematical and Natural Sciences at Berry College. He also serves as Associate in Invertebrate Zoology with the Museum of Comparative Zoology at Harvard University. His research on human and animal parasites, zoonotic diseases, and biological invasions includes international collaborations in Poland, Canada, Ireland, Spain, and Australia, as well as the Czech Republic where he has worked as a Fulbright Senior Specialist. He has served on the faculties of the University of Cincinnati, St. Lawrence University, and the University of the South. Dr. Conn was visiting professor in the doctoral program on human parasitic diseases at the University of Valencia, Spain, a graduate thesis examiner for the Queensland University of Technology in Australia, and is a member of the European Invasive Species Registry. He earned the B.S. from Lee University, the M.S. from Morehead State University, and the Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Conn has authored more than 200 scientific publications, including 2 editions of a textbook, Atlas of Invertebrate Reproduction and Development, which was awarded national honors in bio- and medical publishing by the Association of American Publishers. He has lectured throughout the world, and has served as a grant reviewer or panelist for the U.S. National Science Foundation, the U.S. National Sea Grant program, the Slovak Ministry of Education, the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, the European Science Foundation and the European Space Agency. He has been Associate Editor of the Journal of Parasitology, and is on the editorial boards of Parasitology Research, Acta Parasitologica, and Psyche: A Journal of Entomology. Dr. Conn has served as President of the American Microscopical Society and as President of the American Society of Parasitologists, and remains on the executive committees of both organizations. |
