Tasha R. Inniss, Ph.D., is Associate Provost for Research at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. An accomplished mathematician and innovative educator, Dr. Inniss brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from positions held in academia, the federal government, and a non-profit organization. Her research interests are in the areas of data mining/data science, operations research and applied statistics. Dr. Innis has a passion for teaching mathematics and encouraging undergraduate students to pursue degrees in STEM disciplines. She teaches at Trinity College in Washington, DC, where she has been appointed as a Clare Boothe Luce Assistant Professor of Mathematics. Dr. Inniss has a BS in Mathematics from Xavier University of Louisiana and a MS degree in Applied Mathematics from Georgia Institute of Technology. In 2000, Dr. Inniss became the first African American woman to obtain a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Maryland, College Park.
