Data Panel for the Assessment of Research-Doctorate Programs The data panel will be composed of graduate deans and institutional researchers who have detailed knowledge of varying institutional practices concerning data relevant to graduate education. This panel will meet twice face-to-face and will meet by conference call between meetings. It will carry out a technical review of the draft institutional, program, faculty, and student questionnaires developed during the
Study to Examine the Methodology of the Assessment of Research-Doctorate Programs methodology, and advise the
parent committee
on the final form of the questionnaires. In the process of reviewing the questionnaires, it will agree on the definitions of the data elements, investigate data gathering procedures, and address other issues relating to the questionnaires and data collection.
The panel will not issue a report but will provide input to the parent committee for its surveys and report.
The approximate starting date for the project was 08/10/05. The panel will had its first meeting in December 2005; the second meeting occurred prior to data collection in the spring of 2006.
