List of past U.S. congresses and proceedings International Congresses and General AssembliesEvery four years the International Union of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (IUTAM) holds an international scientific congress. The next International Congress of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (ICTAM) will be held August 19-24, 2012, in Beijing, China. The last congress was held in August 2008 in Adelaide, Australia (http://ictam2008.adelaide.edu.au/). The USNC/TAM sponsors a fellowship program for U.S. researchers presenting papers at the international congresses. Further information on the fellowship program and a list of recipients for 2008 is available. Information on applying for the 2012 fellowship program will be available in late 2011. The General Assembly meets at the congress and also once between congresses; the most recent General Assembly was during the ICTAM in Adelaide, the next meeting will be held in 2010 at a site yet to be determined.
