Jan Johansson Jan Johansson joined the Congressional Research Service (CRS) in 2004 as a Presidential Management Fellow and currently serves as the Service’s Data Librarian. As Data Librarian, Jan recommends infrastructure, policies, and procedures supporting how CRS acquires, maintains and uses public policy data including geodata to support the Congress. Jan is also the co-chair of the Federal Library and Information Center Committee (FLICC) Emerging Technology working group and is a member of the Library of Congress eScience Team which is evaluating approaches that the Library of Congress might use as a custodian of science data. Prior to working at CRS, Jan was user interface developer at JSTOR.org and a reference librarian in finance at the New York public library. His Master of Science in Information is from the University of Michigan and his BA in political science is from Columbia University.
