Dr. Kirchstein Tribute Dr. Kirchstein was a pioneer for women in biomedical science and an inspirational leader at the NIH. She strongly believed in the mission of GUIRR, long participated as an active member, and was intensely involved in issues that GUIRR has addressed over the years, including: funding of the biomedical research enterprise, post-doctoral education, peer review, championing diversity in science, and the full range of issues around the Bayh-Dole Act and turning discovery into innovation. GUIRR will miss this remarkable woman, and we extend our heartfelt sympathy to her family.
