The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine will host a public workshop on The Role of Inducement Prizes on May 29, 2019, in Washington, DC.

This event will take place 9:00AM – 5:30PM on 29 May 2019 in Room 100 of the Keck Center of the National Academies, 500 5th Street, NW, Washington, DC.

Event Description

Organized by an expert committee led by Karim Lakhani of Harvard University and in cooperation with the Laboratory for Innovation Science at Harvard, this workshop forms part of a National Academies study addressing the role of inducement prizes within the U.S. innovation ecosystem. The purpose of the public workshop is to spur further discussion on this topic with experts, practitioners, and competitors in the field of inducement prizes.

Among the topics to be discussed:

Workshop speakers will discuss issues related to inducement prizes based on their professional experience, on topics related to the role of prizes in innovation as well as prize design and facilitation.

2. Exit to Memorial Bridge.

5. Turn RIGHT at the traffic light onto Constitution Ave. N.W.

7. Cross E St. N.W. and look to your RIGHT for the parking entrance.

By Car from BWI Airport
 
1 Head northeast on Elm Rd toward Gov Harry R Hughes Dr
2. Continue onto I-195 W
3. Take exit 2B for MD-295 S/Balt/Wash Pkwy toward Washington
4. Merge onto MD-295 S/Baltimore-Washington Pkwy
5. Use the right 2 lanes to merge onto US-50 W / New York Ave NE toward Washington
6. Merge onto US-50 W / New York Ave NE
7. Keep right to continue on New York Ave NE
8. Turn LEFT onto 6th St. NW. 
9. Cross F St. N.W. and look to your LEFT for the parking entrance.
10. Visitors parking is on the first level of the garage, PI
 
By Car from Dulles International Airport

1. Exit the airport to Airport Access Rd. EAST.
2. Follow until Access Road merges with I-66 EAST. (Caution; I-66 is Tolled in both directions during rush hour. EZ Pass needed.)
3. Follow I-66 EAST across the Roosevelt Bridge into Washington, D.C. After the bridge, I-66 becomes Rte. 50 EAST/Constitution Ave. N.W.
4. Turn LEFT onto Sixth St. N.W.
5. Cross E St. N.W. and look to your RIGHT for the parking entrance.

By Metro's Green or Yellow Line

1. Take Metro's Green or Yellow Line to the Gallery Place-Chinatown station.
2. Exit the station by following signs to Seventh and F Streets/Arena.
3. Turn LEFT and walk EAST on F St. N.W., two blocks past the Capitol One Arena.
4. Turn RIGHT on to Fifth St. N.W.
5. Walk past the fire station parking lot. The next building on your RIGHT will be 500 Fifth St. N.W.
 
By Metro's Red Line

1. Take Metro's Red Line to the Judiciary Square station.
2. Exit the station by following signs to the Building Museum (F St.) exit, between Fourth and Fifth Sts. N.W.
3. Turn LEFT and walk WEST on F St. N.W.
4. Cross Fifth St. N.W. and turn LEFT.
5. Walk past the fire station parking lot. The next building on your RIGHT will be 500 Fifth St. N.W.
