 Barbara Kneebone

Barbara Kneebone is the Fellowships Office Payroll Specialist and has worked at the National Academies since 1994. She has extensive experience in the Policy and Global Affairs division, where she began working with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Fellowship program, the primary goal of which is placing international students - from graduating seniors to Ph.D. scientists - at U.S. universities and federal laboratories to study various peaceful applications of atomic energy. After several years of work with the IAEA, Barbara joined the Fellowships Office to support the National Research Council’s Research Associateship Program, and later, she also worked as a Senior Program Assistant for the Ford Foundation Fellowship program. In her spare time, she enjoys all kinds of music, theater, travel, Kung-Fu, and spoiling her two long-haired Chihuahuas.
